Boiler blast kills three in Mumbai fertiliser factory
The explosion happened when maintenance work was going on
At least three persons were killed and three others injured in a blast in the Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilisers (RCF) Ltd factory here on Saturday, police said.
The explosion, at the factory in Chembur area of northeast Mumbai, is suspected to have taken place in a boiler which was undergoing some maintenance work.
Top police, company and rescue officials have rushed to the site and further details are awaited.
RCF is a state owned fertilizer and chemical manufacturing company. One of its two operating units is at Trombay and the other at Thal, Raigad district, some 100 kms from Mumbai.
