The Delhi government on Tuesday suspended Kejriwal’s principal secretary Rajendra Kuamar. The suspension decision came hours after he was remanded to five days custody by CBI.

The investigative agency has sought ten days remand against him.

The main charges against him is promoting a private company and helping it getting tenders worth Rs. 9.5 crore during the Congress rule in Delhi. There are five other contract cases against him as well.

Kumar has also helped M/s Endeavour Systems Pvt. Ltd. to secure contracts and government tenders worth around 9 crore between 2007 and 2014, the CBI sources said.

The investigative agency had conducted a raid in his office in 2015.

The arrest now intensified the ongoing tussle between BJP-led central government and Kejriwal’s AAP government.
BJP MP Maheish Girri on Tuesday said that the arrest of Rajendra Kumar and four others on corruption charges shows that the AAP -led Delhi government is allowing corruption to run rampant under their nose.

“Arresting a Principal Secretary and a Deputy Secretary is a conspiracy to paralyze the Chief Minister’s office,” Deputy CM Manish Sisodia came up with the counter.

However, the Delhi chief minister has not responded to the arrest yet.

Earlier in 2015, when CBI raided the principal secretary’s office, Kejriwal had called Prime Minister Narendra Modi a coward and  psychopath.
