Dog thrown from Chennai rooftop found alive

The dog thrown off from a two-storey building by two medical students in Chennai has been found alive bringing relief to the thousands of people who had been outraged by the cruelty on display in a video that went viral on Monday.

Her legs have been injured in the incident and she can’t walk properly for now. But she is undergoing treatment.

“Good news – The dog has been found alive. She is not able to walk properly. She is with us now. Will be under treatment. What breaks my heart is that she was still wagging her tail,” her rescuer Shravan Krishnan posted on Facebook with a picture.

The video of the incident shows a man with a reprehensible smile holding a dog by its neck and then throwing her off the terrace. The video ends with the sound of the dog crying in pain.

.”We have filed a case under Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act . Their parents are bringing them to Chennai from Tirunelvelli and Kanyakumari. We expect them to appear before us by noon. We will arrest them,” a senior police officer told NDTV.

The two medical students involved in the crime Gautam Sudarshan and Ashish Pal, who shot the video are still on the run. The Humane Society International had offered a reward of Rs 10,000 to who was willing could provide information leading to the arrest persons involved.
