Dubai based, Emirates Airlines has been awarded the honour of being the world’s best airlines in 2016. It also won the title for “World’s best Inflight Entertainment” for the 12th consecutive times.
The declaration of its success was made on Tuesday at the Skytrax World Airline Awards ceremony. The event was held in England at Farnborough International Air Show. The survey was conducted amongst 19.2 million passengers and 280 airline companies were put up against each other for the same. The passengers who participated in this survey come from 104 countries.
Skytrax had come to the conclusion of awarding Emirates with this prestigious title after a through survey on the same topic. Edward Plaisted, the CEO of Skytrax explains that the survey had been based on international airlines’ consistency to deliver qualitative service.
On this glorious occasion the president of Emirates Airlines expressed “We listen carefully to our customers, and then relentlessly challenge ourselves to deliver and exceed expectations. The fact that these awards are based on the direct feedback from passengers is gratifying and wonderful recognition for all of the hard work that’s gone into creating the Emirates experience.”
Emirates is, however, not the only Gulf based airlines that has made it to the top 10 list of the best air carriers. Accompanying Emirates, are Etihad Airways and Qatar Airways, which is number two on the list. The airlines based in Abu Dhabi, Etihad Airways also won three titles to its name- Best First Class Catering, Best First Class Cabin and Best First Class Seats.
