Five killed, 20 injured as man opens fire at a Serbian cafe

A police statement says a man identified only as Z.S. argued with his wife in the cafe and stormed out before returning with a weapon. He first killed his wife and another woman before randomly shooting at others inside the "Makijato" cafe.

At least five people have been reportedly and 20 injured after a gunman opened fire in a busy cafe in a village about 50 km from Belgrade in northern Serbia. The suspect only identified as ZS was arrested soon after the shooting, AFP reported.

The man burst into the building armed with an assault rifle at around 1:40 am local time.

Children are said to be among those injured. None of those wounded are reported to be in a critical condition.
