A Flipkart delivery boy has been arrested for allegedly flicking 12 iPhone by defrauding his own employer in Chennai, according to report in The New Indian Express.
The accused, B Naveen, allegedly placed order for fake addresses in the Washermenpet area of which he was the delivery in-charge.
The delivery boy then swap the original iPhones with fake ones and return them to the company, claiming that the customers were unsatisfied.
Following the return of many products, Naveen’s employer carried out an internal probe in which they discovered that the phones returned and those dispatched were not the same.
“First, he ordered one phone using a fake address and replaced it with a phone, a china model he bought from Ritchie street and sent it back to the warehouse saying that it was returned by customer. As he didn’t get caught, he followed it up twice by ordering in bulk,” an investigating officer with Madhavaram police told Express.
The delivery boy was arrested on Sunday and was later produced before a magistrate and remanded in judicial custody. The value of the phones stolen are over Rs 5 lakh, according to police.
