Taking strong action against the unprecedented action of AAP MP Bhagwant Mann, who filmed Parliament proceedings and security locations, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan has  now formed a nine-member panel to probe Mann’s breach of security video that has caused a huge uproar across party lines.

The Speaker also advised Mann not to attend the House for the remainder of session until a decision is reached at.  While announcing the action, Sumitra Mahajan recalled the 2001 attack on Parliament and the brave lives lost. Hence, Mann’s action needed urgent action, she said.

“A nine-member committee will probe and submit its report to the House over AAP MP Bhagwant Mann’s video,” Sumitra Mahajan informed the House.

The AAP MP from Punjab stoked a controversy after he shot a video clip of his journey from home to Parliament House, including movement past various security check points, and posted it on the social media, drawing flak from various quarters for putting Parliament complex security in danger.

However, he apologised to the Lok Sabha Speaker and removed the video from Facebook.
