Apps can often be released in the US before they make their way over to Blighty, which is exactly what’s driving Pokémon GO fans crazy.
Although there are reports of the game being available officially in Europe – there’s a simple way to install it on your UK iPhone.
It involves creating a US-based Apple ID and downloading the game from there.
Incidentally, this trick also works with other US apps and will work on both your iPhone and iPad.
We’ve outlined the method in the video above. It involves getting a dedicated US iTunes account.
All you have to do is sign up with a new account and select the US as your location rather than the UK. At first you’ll have to do it with a free app to avoid having to enter US payment method.
You will have to give a US billing address to authenticate your account – so time to look up your long-lost cousin from Minnesota.
Once you’ve successfully created the US account you’ll have access to all the free apps on the American App Store. If you want to pay for a game or a service then you’ll need buy a US-specific iTunes voucher online – eBay being the best location.
And if you ever want to go back to the UK store then you can always sign out and log back in again with your UK Apple ID.
