We are seeing visible, predictable updations of Apple products so far. So Apple will be doing some complete change in the design and application for the next product. featuring an all-glass chassis with components, including the forward facing FaceTime camera, hidden beneath an OLED display.
In the technology patent business, Apple is a giant and already had major advanced innovations in their pocket. So adding this to new project wont be a task for Apple.

Fingerprint recognition is the most advanced login scheme in Apple now. Fingerprint and then Homebutton Touch ID. The quick and secure nature of Touch ID has become a defining characteristic of Apple's mobile devices.
But iPhone7 will be coming without homebutton most probably. So that could be a first step to include more advanced focuses on secure logins and that maybe leading to fix Iris options.
This new introduction of iris scanning technology could be paired with Touch ID, or could potentially replace it entirely on a handset without a home button. Other obvious applications for iris scanning would also apply to security on Apple's other devices, including the iPad and Mac
