As incessant rain wreaks havoc in Assam, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will visit the north-eastern state to take stock of the situation.
Rajnath Singh will make an aerial survey of the areas in Nagaon, Morigaon and Kaziranga districts and also visit a camp of people uprooted by the floods in Morigaon district, an official statement said on Friday.
He will also meet Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and government officers before returning to Delhi in the evening.
Meanwhile, the Union Home Minister is set to visit Pakistan amid tension between two countries, which has been rising day by day. Rajnath Singh will attend the South Asian Association for Regional Corporation (SAARC) interior /home ministers meet to be held in Islamabad next week.
It is not known whether Rajnath Singh will engage with Pakistan authorities during his stay in Islamabad.
