Snap Deal makes pact With Uber, now you can book an Uber through Snap Deal
Snap Deal had recently announced the launch of a wide range of services, that would allow its customers to book flights, order food and even pay bills directly. Now, they have integrated with Uber as to enable easy travel options for snap deal users.
Tony Navin, Senior Vice President Partnerships and Strategic Initiatives of Snap deal in a statement said, “We are committed to building a reliable and friction less digital ecosystem, that caters to the entire range of India’s consumption needs.”
” Our unique partnership with Uber, a global leader in smart mobility is an important step in that direction. We are confident that this integration will further provide an exemplary experience to our customers”, he added.
Snap deal has also made similar partnerships with Zomato (an app that helps you find good restaurants and food to order), ticket and hotel booking service Clear trip, bus ticketing platform red Bus and home services provider Urban Clap.
According to industry experts, this knew deal would keep its customers glued onto its platform with a wide range of services instead of discounts, though this would eventually lead to a heavy cash burn.
Snap Deal would now witness a huge increment in terms of number of users, as none of its rivals (Flip kart, Amazon and Shop clues) are into these kinds of partnership and are still focusing on sale of products.
According to industry experts, with the market becoming extremely competitive, e-commerce companies are likely to explore cross-selling, that is, trading their products and services on each others’ platform through such partnerships.
Mahesh Bhalla, head of business at Uber India, said in a statement, “In August 2014, we opened our API to developers globally and since then we’ve seen the creative ideas that app developers have come up with in order to make it easier for people to move around in cities. This partnership with Snap deal is the first completely native Uber API integration in India and we are excited about this, as we share the same sentiment of building an ecosystem where we work together with other technology companies in order to give customers a hassle-free, end-to-end experience.”
