Internationally acclaimed actor Irrfan Khan’s latest film “Madaari” has grossed Rs 20.55 crore in its opening weekend.
The film was released alongside Rajinikanth-starer “Kabali”, which claimed to have broken many records in the Bollywood film industry.
The Nishikant Kamat directorial, which released on Friday, grossed Rs 16.15 crore in India and Rs 4.4 crore worldwide, read a statement.
The thriller, which sees Irrfan and Kamat team up again after the award winning “Mumbai Meri Jaan”, has been lauded by the film fraternity too.
While the film is about taking a stand and shouldering responsibility, it also showcases the bond between a father and son.
Helmed by Nishikant Kamat, “Madaari” also stars Jimmy Sheirgill, Vishesh Bansal, Tushar Dalvi, Nitish Pandey and Ayesha Raza.
