UP govt claims growth in state GDP, per capita income

The Uttar Pradesh government has claimed that there is a steady increase in GDP and per capita income of the state.

Mehboob Ali, State Minister for Economics and Statistics, has said owing to various schemes run by the state government, there has been an increase in the per capita income.

The minister said the per capita income of the state was Rs 35,358 in 2012-13, which went up to Rs 44,197 in 2014-15 and then increased to Rs 48,584 in 2015-16.

He said the GDP, which was 3.9 per cent in 2013-14, rose to 4.7 per cent in 2014-15 and then to 6.6 per cent in 2015-16.
