Woman arrested over Dhaka cafe attack
Detectives reportedly took her away from their house, saying she was a suspect in the July 1 attack
Security forces on Thursday arrested a woman suspected of involvement in the Dhaka cafe terror attack, media reported.
According to the report, Ruma Akhtar, 22, was arrested by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police on charges of her involvement in the attack, 'bdnews24' reported.
Biju Mia, father of Ruma Akhtar, told the media that detectives took her away from her house saying she was a suspect in the July 1 attack.
"We have heard about the detention of one Ruma (from residents)," a local police official said.
Twenty-two people, including 18 foreign nationals, were killed by five attackers at the Holey Artisan Bakery in Dhaka's upmarket Gulshan district on July 1.
Four Islamist militants of the banned homegrown JMB group, including its top regional head, responsible for the attack were also reportedly arrested on Thursday, the authorities said.
