10 killed in prison blast in Philippines

The explosion took place inside the office of jail warden

At least 10 people were killed following an explosion inside a jail in the Philippines Paranque City on Thursday, local media reported on Friday.

The explosion took place around 8:30 p.m. local time inside the office of jail warden on the first floor of the building, Xinhua quoted police and Paranaque Mayor Edwin Olivarez as saying.

According to the report by radio DZBB, the jail warden also sustained shrapnel wounds. The police are still looking into the cause of the explosions.
