300 people on board Thiruvananthapuram- Dubai Emirates flight crash landed in Dubai. The aircraft caught fire minutes before it was landed in the Dubai International Airport.
No casualties reported so far. The passengers were evacuated through the emergency exit, said officials.
However, a firefighter lost his life, while fighting the flames, added officials. 13 passengers have been treated for minor injuries by an expert media team said officials saying that they left the air port soon after.
Majority of the 282 passengers in EK 521 aircraft are reportedly from Kerala. The accident took place at 12:45 pm local time.
According to the Dubai International Airport sources, all services from the airport resumed today 6:30 pm local time. The Emirates has started booking operations already said officials through Twitter.

Sai bhaskar, a passenger on board EK521 told Times Now that the explosion happened just after everybody evacuated through the emergency exit.

He also said that some problem with left wing of the aircraft caused the accident.
The Emirates officials told media that evacuation procedures were executed professionally and the cabin crew were the last to leave the plane. The flight seems to have landed on its belly and 13 people were injured in the incident, said BBC adding that injuries were reported be minor.
