The Chinese Smartphone manufacturers, Huawei have decided to join hands and come into a partnership with the renowned mobile application, Callertune. The two have, recently, announced their global partnership. Starting with Honor 8, all smartphones produced by Huwaei are going to be available with Truecaller application, pre-installed into them. In 2015 Huawei sold around 100 million smartphone. It comes as a surprise, since, the year prior to that, their figure only totalled unto 33%. Pre-installed Truecaller is predicted to boost the sales of Huawei smartphones.
The third party application, Truecaller provides services such as an inbuilt caller ID, with features of updating the phone book by keeping a track on social media apps and also blocks spam calls. It recently embedded the feature if truedialler into its application which enables smartphone users to make calls to their contacts on social media. This app has other unique features that other diallers do not provide with. Along with enabling people to block spam calls and updating the phonebook via social media information, it can also check availability and duration of calls made and received.
On their official blog, Truecaller has stated “We are also proud to announce today that we have joined forces with Huawei mobile phones (Huawei achieved 40M+ smartphone shipments from overseas market in 2015,) which will now come preloaded with the new Truecaller app in its flagship devices starting with Honor 8, to provide our users with smart dialer functions right from the day they buy the new device”
The co-founder of Truecaller, Nami Zarringhalam, expressed “Our partnership with Huawei is the first of its kind that has only scratched the surface of the immense potential that is yet to be discovered with Truecaller,”
Additionally, President of the Huawei Honor series, George Zhao, has conveyed “We were planning the launch of our flagship device Honor 8 and Truecaller was an obvious choice to help improve the native calling functions. They provide an indispensable service for millions of users each day,”.
