Hyundai on Tuesday launched its luxury segment car Elantra in India, available at starting price of Rs. 12.99-17.99 lakh for petrol and Rs. 14.79-19.19 lakh for diesel in Delhi.
But the prices will see a rise from next year January onwards, Hyundai officials said.
Booking for Elantra model has begun. Hyundai is offering a 3-year-long or unlimited km warranty for the its new model, announced the company official at the launch programme.
Some of the benefits announced by Hyundai include assistance for a period of 3 years, three home visits during 15th day, 6th months and 1.5 years.
For passengers safety, Hyundai has ensured facilities like dual front airbags and ABS. It will have 6 airbags in the car for safety, as per the global safely procedures followed by Hyundai, said the officials.
The vehicle is the sixth-generation car from the stables of Hyundai. Another feature is, compared to Hyundai’s previous models, Elantra is much wider and longer.
Elanta is available in 5 body colours – Marine Blue, Polar White, Sleek Silver, Phantom Black and Red Passion.
Other specialties of Elantra are 2.0-litre petrol powerplant having a 152PS and 186.32Nm. For its diesel version, Elantra has a 1.6-litre tank having a strong engine that can work at 128PS of power and 260Nm of torque. It is also having a transmission system with 6-speed manual with 6-speed automatic form.
It is expected that the new Elantra model will give tough challenge to competitors like Chevrolet Cruze, Volkswagen Jetta, Skoda Octavia and the Toyota Corolla Altis in the high-end luxury market segment in India.
