Kamal Haasan chosen for France's Chevalier award
The 61-year-old actor will receive the award at a special ceremony
Actor and filmmaker Kamal Haasan has been chosen for the coveted the Chevalier de L'Ordre Arts et Letters award by the French government.
A statement issued by the 61-year-old actor read: "The distinction, which is yet another laurel for the actor, is in recognition of his high level of artistic excellence and his distinguished career achievements."
"The award will be conferred on the 61-year-old veteran star at a special ceremony," the statement added.
Other Indian actors who have received the coveted award include Amitabh Bachchan, Nandita Das, Sivaji Ganesan, Aishwarya Rai and Shah Rukh Khan.
