Lakmé Fashion Week Winter Festive 2016 has been the most unique of all the other fashion shows. Body image, gender, age and motherhood, this fashion show has it all covered and is breaking stereotypes with every designer’s collection that walks the ramp.
Many celebrities rocked the show, many unique fashion trends are being introduced, but those are the things you see in most fashion shows. Following is a list of moments that grabbed the limelight on day 4 and day 5 of Lakmé Fashion Week:
1. Sabyasachi Showstopper: Kareena Kapoor Khan reveals her baby bump
This one, surely, takes the cake! Kareena Kapoor Khan flaunted her baby bump in a gorgeous gold and olive bridal wear by Sabyasachi. Not only was she a Sabyasachi model, but the to-be-mother was the designer’s showstopper. There could not have been a better platform to showcase the beauty of motherhood initiated by one of India’s renowned designers and an actress who was once known for her size zero figure. While Kareena Kapoor Khan gracefully proceeded on to the stage, her sense of emotions were high as the actress and her baby took to the ramp for the first time. Deepika Padukone and Karishma Kapoor were amongst the crowd to stare at Kareena in awe, as she walked.
2. Showstopper Prachi Desai’s Cape
Prachi Desai wore a beautiful black and gold, off-shoulder outfit with a cape attached to the sleeves. In her majestic ghaagra and blouse she ended the first afternoon show on day 5. Actress: Karishma Kapoor
Both the Kapoor sisters walked the ramp this year. While Kareena was the showstopper for Sabyasachi, Karishma played the same role for designer Architha Narayanam. Although, Karishma’s red gown wasn’t anything the audience hadn’t seen before.

4. Slamming body shamming
Little Shilpa’s ‘aLL’ collection was all about the double L’s. With an up-beat, modern theme and plus-sized models owning the show with there outfits and attitude, it was an episode the broke all stereotypes related to body image. Who says plus sized people can’t look fab?
5. Age is just a number

Along with Daljeet, Ranbir Kapoor and Prateek Gujral also showcased the neutral colours that Kunal went out of the way, to design.
