Like pepper like turmeric!
Daily intake of powerful anti oxidants like Turmeric can protect one from Cancer. The problem with Turmeric is the bio availability is limited to 1 hour and the required dose per day is around 100 gms. Hence it is impossible to take 100 gms. per day and which will cause other side effects. Now researchers have developed a concept called BCM 95 which is Bio curcumin , half life of this product is around 8 hrs. and it passes through blood brain barrier. Effective dose is around 500 mg. twice daily.
Adding black pepper to turmeric may increase bioavailability 1000x or more.
This may occur because black pepper contains piperine which inhibits enzymes that help metabolize drugs.
pepper may help to increase the absorption of curcumin. Also, it is fat soluble, so including it in recipes that use coconut milk helps to increase your body’s ability to absorb it and benefit from it even more.
Black pepper increases the bioavailability of Turmeric by up to 2000%.
Turmeric itself is very poorly absorbed and consequently very inefficient itself. By adding black pepper to Turmeric Curcumin in food or in a supplement, you significantly increase the effectiveness of Turmeric Curcumin.
