Los Angeles Airport Police on late Sunday said that they were investigating an unconfirmed report of an active shooter on Los Angeles International Airport premises.
“Police searching LAX after reports. All precautions being taken to ensure safety of public. Remain calm. Thank you for your cooperation,” LAPD said in a tweet.
The airport tweeted that the departure and arrival levels of the Central Terminal Area were closed and advised passengers to contact airlines to check the status of any flights.

According to media reports, the LAPD said the reports of a shooter had come from two callers, but the police could not confirm what was going on.
The Airport police also could not confirm the reports of a shooter, saying there was no evidence to confirm the claims, but an investigation was underway.
