The maker of Inception and The Dark Knight, Christopher Nolan has released a trailer of his up coming movie Dunkirk. The movie is said to be based on a true incident from World War II.
This is going to be the director Christopher Nolan’s first ever war based movie. Dunkirk‘s trailer has been playing at the theatres with the movie Suicide Squad. It doesn’t give out many details as to when the movie is expected to be in theatres apart from the announcement that it is releasing next year, in 2017. Hoyte van Hoytema is the cinematographer who shot the movie. It going to be screening in the formats of 70mm, 35mm and IMAX.
The cast of the movie includes Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy and Mark Rylance. A member of the boy band One Direction, Harry Styles is also going to be in the movie. This is the first movie role that he has landed. Along with Harry breaking through into the film industry is Fion Whitehead, who is also a newcomer.
The movie depicts the story of Operation Dynamo. This operation was an actual initiative to rescue 300, 000 allied troops from Dunkirk, where there were surrounded by Nazi soldiers, at the time of World War II.
The trailer has an intense setting as it begins with a scene of the sea shore with soldiers at a distance and smoke flying into the air behind them. The background music is that of a ticking time bomb. There are snippets of sea shores, soldiers by the shore, bodies of soldiers settling down into the sand as the wind blows sand over them and of a troop of soldiers in a long ship watching as a missile closes in on them. However the trailer ends before the missile hits the lot, having the viewers guessing as to what would have happened. Have a look for yourself.
