Stop feeling irritated, sulking, blaming and whining. Start eating these food to refresh yourselves and make your body calm.

Dark chocolates

Avoid sugar cravings. If you really can’t help it or stop yourselves, then eat dark chocolates. These contain less sugar compared to dairy chocolates. Haven’t you heard of how these can eliminate depression?


Not just salmon, but even other fishes contain omega-3 fatty acids. Apart from heart benefits, this seafood even provides menstrual relief. Consuming fish oil supplements helps to reduce pain. These fats are healthy fats and are not only found in salmon, but also in nuts, avocados and olive oil too.



Eating larger amounts of calcium and vitamin D reduces intense PMS symptoms. This is because calcium decreases depression and irritation caused in the brain and vitamin D regulates moods. Another wonder source of these vitamins is yogurt, which provides healthy digestion.


Chamomile tea, green tea, regular tea.. actually, any type of tea can help in relieving muscle spasms and reduce pain that leads to irritability. If you feel nausea and bloated sensation, then opt for ginger tea.



Bananas being rich in vitamin B6, magnesium and potassium can reduce water retention and bloating while keeping you feeling less cranky. These immensely affect your blood glucose and help in boosting your mood. Apart from soothing your bowel, it is a good remedy for women dealing with diarrhea during period.

Nuts and seeds

These are packed with protein, minerals, fatty acids, fiber, vitamins, and many other nutrients. Walnuts are rich in omega-3 fatty acids and are known for anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties. Sesame seeds are known to reduce cramps that intensify with menstruation. They help to relax muscles. Sunflower seeds help to stop cramping and fenugreek seeds are also a good remedy for menstrual pain.
