Sgt. Mark Francis had initially confirmed that four persons were dead, but he later revised his statement and corrected the body count to three. However, Sgt. Francis said the male with life threatening injureis “most likely will pass away”.

The injured man was airlifted and transported to the Harborview Medical Centre, located in Seattle. “We have one adult male victim from the Burlington mall shooting who arrived by air this evening to Harborview Medical Center approximately 9:30 p.m. He is in critical condition,” Susan Greg, hospital’s spokeswoman, told the media. She also added “we are not expecting any others”.

There is still speculation weather all the five victims were at the Macy’s store at the time of the shooting or if there were four in the store and one elsewhere. “We believe all five were [at Macy’s store] but it has not been confirmed if the fifth was yet,” Sgt. Francis said.

Sgt. Francis tweeted a picture of a “Hispanic male wearing grey,” who was last spotted walking towards Interstate 5 and is suspected to be the shooter. He tweeted “Here is the shooter. We believe just one shooter … Armed with rifle.”

As of 10 local time, the police were “actively searching for suspect, tracking leads”. On the other hand, the law enforcement authorities are also sweeping through the mall for the second time, to make sure that the mall has been completely evacuated. The law enforcement team has gathered a group of people who were in the mall, at the time of shooting and are considered to be potential eye witnesses.

Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has also said that it will be responding to the shooting that happened at the Washington mall.
