Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa will be shifted to Singapore Apollo Hospital for treatment as she is suffering from fever and dehydration. She was earlier admitted to Apollo Hospital in Chennai. Her party allies and the general public, who heaved a breath of relief when doctors earlier said that her condition is stable, are all back into frenzy with the latest development.
The 68-year-old AIADMK chief was recently taken to hospital after she complained of fever. Fans and followers across Tamil Nadu expressed concern and prayed for her speed recovery.
The police were on vigil around the hospital premises and made barricades to control the anxious crowd gathered there. All the roads to the hospital premises were in snail pace last night following her admission.
Various groups and persons organised prayers for her fast recovery across the state last day. Prayers meetings were conducted in various churches, mosques and temples for the Chief Minister’s speedy recovery. Political leaders from the national and state levels, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, her rival Kalinjar Karunanidhi and his son Stalin, wished her fast recovery.
There were so many speculations prevailing about her health in the past year, too but neither she nor her party made any comments on this. She even filed a defamation case against a website when it published a report with a title “Chennai media knew J Jayalalithaa’s health is not fine, but kept mum”.
Last day’s hospital bulletin says: ““The Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu was admitted to Apollo Hospitals, Chennai, with fever and dehydration. The Honourable Madam is stable and under observation.”
Various posts appeared on twitter connecting her ‘dehydration’ with the Cauvery issue.
