Remove tangles. It is always good to detangle your hair before washing them so that it is easier to lather your hair.
Soak your hair completely with warm water or cold. After soaking just loosen the hair by massaging them. Massaging helps in the circulation of blood, dirt removal and boosts the growth. Do not use warm water for long time and it is best to end with cool water.
This might seems odd and new to you but always condition before shampooing your long hair if it is below your shoulders. The ends of your hair just near the tips require more conditioning to be strong. Apply a small coin sized amount of conditioner to your palm and massage it gently into the ends of your hair. This protects from split ends and gives shine!
Take the amount of shampoo considering the length of your hair. Double that amount if your hair is longer. Softly massage the shampoo into roots of your hair. Do not scrub in the process. Make sure you shampoo well at the nape as it is equally important part. Leave the ends so that it does not look dry.
Lather from the roots. Avoid tight circular motions while lathering as it will damage or break the cuticles. Don’t use more shampoo than you required. Friction can damage your hair’s cuticle permanently leading to frizz. They are delicate and be very careful. Vertical strokes with medium pressure is good.
Evenly distribute the conditioner in your hair by using the finger tips. Leave them for around 1-5 minuted depending on the condition of your hair. Do not comb them.
After leaving the conditioner for sometime on your hair, rinse it off in same vertical ways. Rinse well so that you do not leave any conditioner on your making it look oily and limp later on.
