Democratic Presidential Nominee Donald Trump on Friday said he wanted to see what would happened to Republican Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton by disarming the Secret Service agents who have been guarding the former first lady.
Addressing a rally in Miami, Trump said: “I think that her bodyguards should drop all weapons. I think they should disarm. Immediately.”
Amid the loud applause, Trump went on: “Take their guns away. She doesn’t want guns. Take them. Let’s see what happens to her. Take their guns away, O.K. It will be very dangerous.”
Both the presidential nominees have been protected at all times by heavily armed teams of Secret Service agents, some uniformed and some undercover, who are devoted to the candidates’ physical safety.
Robby Mook, Mrs Clinton’s campaign manager, condemned the comments.
“This kind of talk should be out of bounds for a presidential candidate.Whether this is done to provoke protesters at a rally or casually or even as a joke, it is an unacceptable quality in anyone seeking the job of commander in chief,” he said in a statement.
“He is unfit to be President and it is time Republican leaders stand up to denounce this disturbing behaviour in their nominee.”
