Gurpreet Singh Ghuggi appointed AAP convener in Punjab
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday appointed Gurpreet Singh Ghuggi as the party’s Punjab unit convener, ‘Indian Express’ has reported. This comes after Sucha Singh Chhotepur was removed from the post after a video clip surfaced showing him allegedly taking bribes in exchange of poll tickets.
The political affairs committee of the party cleared Ghuggi’s name for the post, a party release said in Chandigarh, adding that he will take charge soon.
A number of top leaders had demanded action against Chhotepur and approached the AAP national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
