IT raids Natham’s premises, Jayalalithaa sacks him from two party posts
Income Tax official raided around 45 premises belonging to former state power and excise minister Natham R Viswanathan, Chennai mayor Saidai Duraisamy’s son Vetri Duraisamy, Kirthilal Jewellers and Meenakshi Mission Hospital group on Monday.
According to media reports, the premises are spread over Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Mumbai and Delhi.
Natham Viswanathan, the former Power and Electricity Minister and his relative’s properties were searched as well at Dindugal and Chennai.
Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa on Monday removed R. Viswanathan from key party posts.
Jayalalithaa, in a statement, said Viswanathan was removed from the posts of AIADMK’s Organisation Secretary and the party’s communication group. No reason was given for the change.
