Mumbai: Navy on highest alert after children spot men carrying heavy arms
The students claimed that they saw five to six persons wearing black uniform wholly covered and carrying long weapons
In the wake of Uri attack, security forces, especially the Indian Navy, were put on highest alert in Mumbai after school children claimed that five to six men were seen moving suspiciously near a Naval facility in Uran close to the financial capital.
According to media reports, the students claimed that they saw five to six persons wearing black uniform wholly covered and carrying long weapons and heavy sack bags.
The students reportedly of UES school in Uran first informed the principal following which the police was alerted.
As per NDTV report, their Navy sources said the information is being treated very seriously and has launched efforts to secure all bases. "We cannot overlook anything at this point," a senior officer was quoted as saying by the TV channel.
Uran houses an ammunition dump of the Indian Navy. Reacting to the information, the Indian Navy has started a massive search operation. Marine commandos MARCOS have been deployed at the Uran Navy base.
