After Rahul’s yatra, now Priyanka Gandhi to campaign for Congress in UP
After Rahul Gandhi’s successful ‘Kisan Yatra’ in Uttar Pradesh, it’s now sister Priyanka Gandhi’s turn to campaign in the state ahead of next year’s crucial elections. According to a report in Indian Express, Priyanka will be launching her campaign for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections from Allahabad on November 19.
Sources told Indian Express that with the issue of research scholar Rohit Vemula’s suicide again hitting headlines, both Priyanka and Rahul would take up the issues related to Dalits across the state.
“After the yatra of Rahul Gandhi enthused party workers and also gave issues to farmers to talk about, the Congress will not sit relaxed in Uttar Pradesh. Priyanka Gandhi would now go on a campaign trail across the state,” said a senior party leader.
Besides this, the party is planning to start campaigning for the election from Anand Bhawan in Allahabad on the 99th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
According to reports, posters of Priyanka Gandhi have started surfacing outside the constituencies of Rae Bareli and Amethi.
