In the latest trouble for Markandey Katju, he has received a notice from Allahabad Court on a petition accusing him of having made “objectionable” remarks with regard to consumption of beef in his blog posts.

The Additional Sessions Judge Shuchi Srivastava has asked Justice Katju to file his reply by the next date of hearing on November 18.

This comes after his social media comments following the lynching of a man in Dadri, who was suspected to have slaughtered a cow and eaten its meat. A petition was filed by Advocate Rakesh Nath Pandey challenging the order of the Chief Judicial Magistrate whereby his prayer for directing the police to lodge a FIR against Justice Katju was turned down.

Pandey has alleged that Katju has hurt sentiments of a major section of society by attacking the Hindu belief that the cow was sacred and seeking repeal of the laws whereby slaughtering cow has been banned in many states.

After running into trouble with Supreme Court on his comments on Soumya rape case, this is another court notice addressed to Katju following his social media comments. But his challenging and outspoken skills haven’t been altered, as yesterday he floated a series of tweets claiming to be “Allahabadi Goonda” and challenging Maharashtra Navnirman Sewa (MNS) to face him.

MNS has been threatening the release of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and has even gone down to give veiled threats to multiplex owners. In the wake of Uri Terror attack, MNS is against Pakistan-based artists in Bollywood and has decided to force the boycott of Pakistani artists.  Director of the film, Karan Johar, issued a public apology via video and assured to never work with Pakistani talent again.

The producers and directors of the film yesterday met top cop of Mumbai Police and today they met Home Minister Rajnath Singh to seek safety for the film, the government has assured all the help to the team.
