We have all the scoop.

Apple’s release schedule

Before we think about new features you should expect in the iPhones of the future, let’s talk about the likely release date schedule.

However Apple’s release dates are not much handful and out of prediction always. We have to assume  based on the past few years of Apple launches, the coming options will be S series most probably: the iPhone 7s and the iPhone 7s Plus, launched together in autumn 2017 (with the potential of an iPhone SE 2 in spring of 2017, or moved back to launch with them in the autumn). The iPhone 8 – as well as the iPhone 8 Plus – would then finally be unveiled in September 2018.

  • Mar 2017: iPhone SE 2
  • Sept 2017: iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus
  • Mar 2018: iPhone SE 3
  • Sept 2018: iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus

Anyway let’s check out the upcoming features of iPhone8 that got leaked!

While it would be a preference for the next iPhone to add wireless charging and a more rugged display, Apple may be focusing on a whiz bang feature that would probably make Jony Ive, Apple’s chief of design, very happy. If you look at all of the iPhones and iPads since day one, they have that home button taking up a big chunk of the device, largely because there has to be space on both sides of it. Apple can’t eliminate it and use a software home button because it also serves as the Touch ID fingerprint sensor.

Now that the home button has been converted from a physical button to a haptic-feedback mechanism, it could be moved under the screen. If Apple can also move the Touch ID sensor as well, it would either free up the bottom of the iPhone (and iPad) to allow for a taller display, or perhaps Apple could make a smaller device that maintained the same screensize.
