Arab League warns Israel on looting water resources from the region

The Secretary General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, has said that the continuation of Israel's violations and the continuing dispossession of water resources in the territory of Palestine, Syria and Lebanon disregard of international law and international conventions threaten Arab water security.

Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, electricity Sudanese Moataz Moussa stressed the importance of the conference, which is held under the auspices of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas "Abu Mazen" and the Secretary General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, to mobilize regional and international efforts to protect Arab water rights facing violations of international and humanitarian law.
Moussa stressed that the struggle over water threatens Arab national security in light of extended Israeli ambitions calling in this context, to mobilize efforts in order to confirm the Palestinian right to sovereignty over, especially since the United Nations resolutions in support of these rights for its part.
President of the Arab Parliament Ahmed Al Jarwan said in his speech that Parliament realize the magnitude of the serious challenge on the present and future of the Arab Water is aware that the historical rights in the water is not shaken by the robbery of the Zionist authority on the Arab water and the imposition of the will of the status quo.
