An Army man was killed in unprovoked Pakistani firing on Indian Army posts along Line of Control (LoC) in Naushera sector of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.
Defence spokesman in Jammu Lt Col Manish Mehta confirmed Sepoy Sudhees Kumar, 24, from Sambhal District of Uttar Pradesh was killed in unprovoked firing on Army posts along the LoC in Rajouri district.
An unnamed intelligence official told Hindustan Times Sudhees Kumar of 6 Rajputana Rifles at a forward post in Balakote sector was killed by a single sniper shot fired by Pakistani sniper.
After India’s surgical strikes tensions between the two countries have escalated. Pakistani troops had been regularly firing and shelling Indian posts and civilian areas along LoC and IB. There have been over 25 ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops along the LoC in J&K after surgical strikes by Army.
