After dengue and Chikungunya, Delhi is thrown into Bird Flu Panic

Since the last week, several birds were found dead, including migratory birds in Delhi. Some tested positive for H5 Avian Influenza Virus or bird flu at Zoological park and Deer park in New Delhi.
The National Zoological Park (Delhi zoo) and Deer Park was shut down for an indefinite period following the confirmation that the deaths of water birds were due to bird flu.
Teams from the animal husbandry department visited the Ghazipur wholesale market to collect samples. According to traders, Chicken price has gone down by 5-10 per Kg and is expected to go down further. Sale has also started decreasing.
Spraying is carried out by a veterinary department worker at Gazipur Murga Mandi in DelhiFridayy in the wake of Bird Flu scare
