Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump on Thursday strongly denied sexual harassment claims made by a People magazine journalist one decade back.

At a public rally in Florida, he mocked the accuser by saying, “Look at her … I don’t think so.” He also tweeted about the incident, saying ”Why didn’t the writer of the 12-year-old article in People Magazine mention the “incident” in her story. Because it did not happen!”

People magazine’s reporter Natasha Stoynoff on Wednesday claimed Trump tried to sexually assault her in 2005, when she visited him in his Mar-A-Lago property for a feature on the first wedding anniversary of Trump and Melania.

She wrote in people.com that Trump locked the door of the room “and within seconds, he was pushing me against the wall, and forcing his tongue down my throat”. She added she escaped after Trump’s butler intervened at the scene.

Trump criticised the reporter, saying, “One decade back, she wrote a nice article on me and Melania, and now she is back with an accusation, when Melania was pregnant. ”

“Why didn’t they make it part of the story? I was one of the biggest stars on television with The Apprentice and it would have been one of the biggest stories of the year,” Trump asked his supporters Thursday at West Palm Beach.
“And by the way, the area was a public area, people all over the place,” he added. “Take a look, you take a look. Look at her, look at her words, you tell me what you think. I don’t think so.”

Trump’s campaign has responded to the allegation saying, “This never happened. There is no merit or veracity to this fabricated story.”
