Dubai International Airport receives Seven million passengers in September

Dubai International Airport exceeded 7 million passenger tally for the 6th time this year in September, with traffic reaching 62.9 million in the first nine months

Dubai International Airport (DXB) has broke all previous passenger figures to register over seven million passenger arrivals for the month of September, said officials.

DXB officials said, the traffic flow in September is the highest-ever figure recorded at the DXB for the sixth time in last eight months, as per the monthly traffic report issued on Monday by operator Dubai Airports.

Currently Dubai Airport has become world’s leading international hub and has received a huge passenger volume of 62,945,091 in 2016, compared to previous year’s figures of 58,696,877 during same time, said officials.

Airport sources, added that the DXB witnessed a rise of 7.2 per cent in 2016. Across the world, Eastern Europe again retained its reputation as the fastest-growing market during September (+23.6 per cent) due to advancements in additional capacity and new flight operations started by leading Airlines including Emirates and flydubai.

GCC (16.6 per cent) stands at the second position now, followed by Asia (16.2 per cent) and the Indian Subcontinent (12.2 per cent), added sources.

India is the most frequented dream destination for international tourists (909,102 passengers), followed by the UK (522,046 passengers) and Saudi Arabia (503,977 passengers).
