And the good thing is that you don’t need to spend a bomb on the nutritionists. Just keeping in mind some simple tips will help you.
Today, we tell you the some vegetables that you must include in your diet to go from fat to fit. This is especially useful for vegetarian people, as vegetarians often find it difficult to lose weight.
“This is because vegetarians often take diet that has excess carbohydrates but is deficient in protein,” says Nutritionist Suneela Bhatia.

“Vegetarians must eat protein in every meal and snack. This will ensure that they get complete proteins in a day. Nuts and beans are good protein sources. Also while oats, brown rice, beans, peas, sweet potatoes, and whole grain breads are good for body, they should stay away from white processed breads and snack products,” she adds.

Oatmeal
Have oatmeal in breakfast. It is rich in fibre and hence a great way to start your day. But don’t go for those packaged oats, stick to plain oatmeal. The ones you get in ready-to eat packets have high sugar content and calories and hence do more harm than good.

Spinach
Spinach is a storehouse of fibre and protein. Both fibre and protein are a must for vegetarians as they don’t eat eggs and other high-protein non-veg items.

Sweet potatoes
Replace potato with sweet potatoes as these are rich in carbohydrates that are required for energy and do not get converted into fat as potatoes do.

Cauliflower
Cauliflower contains protein, carbohydrates and dietary fibres, enough to fuel your body when you’re working towards those six-packs.

Broccoli
Broccoli is rich in fibre and extremely low in calories, and hence it is good addition for energising your body and building muscles. It is also rich in Vitamin C which helps you recover from intense workout sessions. Broccoli should be eaten alone, plain and simple, and not with any condiments.

Protein shakes
Protein shakes do wonders for the body, more so if you are a vegetarian. Protein helps repair and recover muscle tissues as fast as it builds them up. Make your own protein shakes by adding fruits, vegetables and pulses. You can also try whey protein available in the market.

Mushrooms
Mushrooms are high in essential nutrients and low in calories. They taste delicious and give you a feeling of full stomach for a long time as compared to other vegetables.
