In recent years, he has come with a famous call to all his followers and denounced them saying that "militant groups such as the Islamic State (IS) are trying to defame a religion that advocates peace and tolerance".
Last year on the occasion of the diamond jubilee celebrations of his Sunni Yuvajana Sangham (SYS), the Islamic scholar has also denounced the brutal act of beheading of Egyptian Christians in Libya. He also criticised militant attacks on children in a school in Pakistan’s Peshawar province.
He termed the attacks as anti-Islam, saying the attackers have stayed away from the basic tents of Islam that "it is a religion of peace".
