Kanye West Blames Tidal-Apple Rivalry for Failing to Collaborate With Jay Z to make "Watch the Throne 2"
Ever since the collaborated album by Jay Z and Kanye West received the status of Platinum since its release in 2011, fans have eagerly been looking out for their second album. Kanye West tells his fans that the competition between two music production houses, Tidal and Apple, is the reason that "Watch the Throne 2" is not happening
During his Saint Pablo Tour concert in Seattle, rapper and singer, Kanye West opened up about the brotherly love being lost between him and Jay Z because of the "TIDAL/Apple bull----."
He told his fans that it was because Apple, whose music streaming service is run by Jay Z himself, changed its mind about buying Tidal, which is partly owned by Kanye West, causing a rift between the two. West said "It will never be a Watch The Throne 2," further adding "You know why? Because that’s the reason why I wasn’t on the song. I wasn’t on the song 'cause of Hov. 'Cause it’s this TIDAL/Apple bull----."
Kanye also pointed out that the reason his Pop Style verse failed to make it to Drake's Views album, which was exclusively available of Apple, is also because of the tensions between these two music streaming companies.
West further went on to express his dismay, pointing out that Jay Z hasn't even visited his family, ever since Kim Kardashian was held at gun point in Paris and robbed. Kanye gives a shout out to Jay Z, saying that North, West and Kardashian's daughter, and Blue Ivy, Beyonce and Jay Z's daughter, don't even play together.
"I can’t take this (expletive), bro!" West said. "Our kids ain't never even played together."
""Don't call me after the robbery and say, 'How you feelin'?'".
"You wanna know how I'm feelin'? Come by the house. Bring the kids by the house. Like we brothers, let's sit down." inviting Jay Z over to his house to mend things over, that have been caused by rivalry between Tidal and Apple.
Zooming out from a personal perspective, and looking at a wider picture, Kanye West has also raised a serious question about how the beef between Tidal and Apple have been the music industry.
