Kiren Rijiju hits back at Anurag Kashyap saying his tweet is “without logic”

Union minister Kiren Rijiju hits out at filmmaker Anurag Kashyap on his comments about boycott of Pakistani actors saying the filmmaker’s criticism is “without logic”.

Union minister of state for home affairs Kiren Rijiju has hit out  at filmmaker Anurag Kashyap on his comments about boycott of Pakistani actors by saying the filmmaker’s criticism is “without logic”.  Minister made his criticism in twitter saying “A new fashion has developed in India. A student or a film person can put a question or speak against PM without any logic to get into news.”

Rijiju was responding to Kashyap’s tweet yesterday in which he said if Filmmakers making films with Pakistani actors could be penalized, then Prime Minister Narendra Modi should apologise for visiting his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif last year on his birthday. Kashyap was extending his support to Karan Johar, whose yet to be released ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ is facing boycott calls from Cinema Owners Exhibitors Association of India (COEAI). The film got into trouble which features Pakistani actor Fawad Khan because the association have decided not to screen movies which feature Pakistani actors.

Kashyap added that the film shouldn’t be affected because it was shot way before the escalation in India-Pak relations after Uri attacks. Being showered with criticism for his tweets the filmmaker clarified his statements by tweeting that he questioned the PM because he had every right to do so. He shunted down the criticisms by saying “I refuse to live in the fear created by blind fanatics that you cannot have a conversation with your PM or question him or expect from him”.
