A day after Shivpal Yadav said ‘all is well in family’, one of the Samajwadi Party leader and Akhilesh’s loyalist Pawan Pandey on Wednesday was expelled from the party. “We have written a letter to UP CM to sack Pawan Pandey of the ministerial position over clash with MLC Ashu Malik,” said SP leader Shivpal Singh Yadav told reporters.
On Monday, SP MLC Ashu Malik had claimed that he was slapped by party leader Pawan Pandey when he was at UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav’s residence. According to a report in Indian Express, he was reportedly called up to clarify things regarding his comparisons of Akhilesh Yadav and his father and party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav to Aurangzeb and Shahjahan, respectively.
Shivpal Singh Yadav said the party and Yadav family were united during such times. “Parivaar mein koi vivadh nahi, party mein koi vivadh nahi hai, sab ek hain (There is no dispute within the family nor the party, we are united),” said Shivpal.
Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh had also denied any rift in the party and and his family, which is witnessing a bitter power struggle between Akhielsh Yadav and his uncle Shivpal. The internal fight in the party came to the fore when Akhilesh sacked Shivpal from his cabinet, following which Mulayam had sacked Ram Gopal Yadav from the Samajwadi Party for six years.
On Tuesday, Shivpal had said all was well in the party as he visited Mulayam Singh Yadav’s residence and was joined in later by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.
“All is well in the party and the Mulayam family. I am with ‘netaji’ (Mulayam). We will abide by whatever directive is given by him,” Shivpal said. Earlier, Akhilesh had offered to step down as CM but later accused Amar Singh and those close to him of hatching a “conspiracy” against him and his father.
