Ranbir-Anushka-Aishwarya starrer, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil gets a U/A certificate

After much speculation regarding the release of director Karan Johar’s film, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, the Censor Board of India has cleared the film with a U/A certificate. The film that is scheduled to release in Diwali 2016 stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Fawad Khan. Diwali, known as the Festival of Lights, the film celebrates love. Ranbir Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have already created lot of buzz with their their smouldering chemistry  in the film and the duo even enacting steamy scenes , while Anushka Sharma and Fawad Khan were two ex lovers. The characters in the film face life’s challenges to finally discover the true essence of love.

Confirming this news, Apoorva Mehta, CEO, Dharma Productions said, “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has been cleared by the censor board and we are gearing up for its release on the 28th of October. Diwali is all about love and Ae Dil is all about spreading love.”

Vijay Singh, CEO, Fox Star Studios, adds, “Karan Johar’s films present love in its most purest yet unique and modern way and this Diwali he is celebrating love, friendship and heartbreak. We are set for the film’s release on October 28. There can be no better way than celebrating Diwali with Ae Dil, a quintessential family entertainer.”

Earlier in the day, the cinema owners comprising of owners primarily from Mumbai, Pune and Nashik held a meeting to discuss the release of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and urged owners not to release the film. Akshaye Rathi, film exhibitor, tweeted, “The COEAI hasn’t called for a BAN on films with Pakistani artistes. Legally, they cannot! They have REQUESTED members to not screen them.” He further tweeted, “LEGALLY, the only entities that can stop a film from releasing are the CBFC & the court of law. And neither of the 2 have called for it yet.”

The Film & Television Producers Guild of India also came in support of the film and other films starring Pakistani artistes and urged the government to not stop the release of these films and producers have invested a lot of money and while Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is complete, others like Dear Zindagi, Raees and others are in the pipeline.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil produced by Fox Star Studios and Dharma Productions is set to release on October 28, 2016.
