RSS meet to finalise Mission Uttar Pradesh 2017 game plan
Key RSS meeting called the Akhil Bharatiya Karyakarini Mandal Baithak (ABKM), scheduled to begin in Hyderabad on Sunday, has a host of issues to deliberate upon. With key state like Uttar Pradesh going to the polls in 2017, it is expected to draw a road map or outline the game plan on how to return to power in Lucknow. Election results in UP will be a-go on to indicate what lies ahead in the 2019 general elections for Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre.
It is expected that a resolution praising surgical strikes will be passed at the ABKM, one of the highest decision-making and policy formulation body of the RSS. The Sangh has already praised the BJP government for the strikes. The upcoming Assembly polls in states such as Uttar Pradesh, Goa, Punjab, Gujarat and Manipur will also feature in the discussion of RSS functionaries.
The post-Uri strategic military actions by India will be the trump card in BJP’s campaign in Uttar Pradesh by highlighting the efficiency of decision-making of Modi government.
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and general secretary Suresh Bhayyaji Joshi will chair the three-day meeting. The meeting is expected to discuss caste discrimination and education policy in India.
Bhagwat had expressed his concern over the delay in drafting new education policy during his Vijayadashami speech in Nagpur.
The dissent in Goa where former RSS state chief Subhash Velingkar has fielded a new party to take on the BJP would also be discussed in the meeting. Mr. Velingkar accused the BJP of backing from its poll promises and not drawing measures to impart education in local languages.
Functionaries of various organisations Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, an organisation that works for farmers, tribal welfare organisation Vanavasi Kalyan Ashram, BharatiyaMazdoor Sangh, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, the BJP and its student organisation Akhil Bharateeya Vidyarthi Parishad will also take part in the meeting. Last year, the ABKM meeting was held in Ranchi, Jharkhand.
