In the high-profile murder case of Sheena Bora, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed its second supplementary charge sheet on Friday based on additional evidence, officials informed.

It had been reported that the agency had made the submission before the court on October 17 during the hearing of Peter Mukherjea’s bail application. Peter had approached the High Court after his bail plea was rejected by the special CBI court in May.

Hearing in the case will begin tomorrow with the accused viz. Indrani Mukherjea, husband Peter Mukherjea and her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna, who had allegedly killed their daughter Sheena Bora, media reported. According to a report of Aaj Tak, charge sheet clearly states that Indrani Mukherjea kept her husband, Peter Mukherjea informed about the whole scenario from time to time.

Victim Sheena Bora, who was 24 then, daughter of Indrani Mukerjea from a previous relationship, had been allegedly strangled to death in a vehicle on April 24,2012 and later her burnt body was dumped in a bag in the forests near Gagode, in Raigad district adjacent to Mumbai.

The case came to light when Indrani’s former driver was detained in another case and confessed to the alleged murder in front of the Mumbai police. He led the police to the site where Sheena’s body was allegedly burnt in Raigad, after which police sent the charred remains to a forensic lab which confirmed it belonged to Sheena. Police then arrested Indrani, driver Shyamvar P. Rai and ex-husband Khanna in August 2015, and later the CBI nabbed Peter Mukerjea in November.

Rahul Mukherjea, former media baron Peter Mukerjea’s son who was in a relationship with Sheena, had also said in his statement that he had last seen her with Indrani, Rai and Khanna when he dropped her near National College in Bandra on the day of the murder, the media reported.

On June 20 this year, the Special Court granted Rai’s plea for a pardon in return for turning approver and a prosecution witness in the case. He blamed Indrani for strangling Sheena, while he restrained her.
