Considering that Taylor Swift is signed with Coca-Cola, she had to turn down the offer made to her to perform at Super Bowl, along with Lady Gaga, as Super Bowl is primarily sponsored by Pepsi.
However, due to a new deal that she signed with AT&T, Taylor will, now, be performing a pre-gig before the show commences day after her performance in Huston, Texas.
According to a statement released by the AT&T, who are the sponsors of the pre-show event for DirectTV “AT&T signed a major, exclusive multi-year, multi-faceted deal featuring performances and content with 10-time Grammy award-winning singer, songwriter, musician, and producer Taylor Swift,” the statement read. “As part of the deal with AT&T, Taylor Swift will headline AT&T DIRECTV Super Saturday Night in Houston the night before the Big Game. This is the 12th DIRECTV event leading up to the biggest sporting event of the year, and the first time Taylor Swift will perform during the festivities.”
Taylor Swift’s last album 1989 was released in October 2014, she has even completed a world tour for the same. Ever since the end of her last tour, fans were not sure as to when they would be ab;e to see her perform live, once again. Considering, that she would need to realise a new album to do so.
However, now that the news of her pre-super bowl gig has been out, there are speculations that the Style singer must be launching a new album, a part of which she might sing at the super bowl pre-gig.
There is also news that there are only two singers who have previously performed at the Super-Bowl, Beyoncé and Katy Perry, have received invitations to this pre-gig which is to take place a day before the Super-Bowl commences, in 2017. Lady Gaga is going to be the star performer for the same.
