Three all-Glass iPhone 8 models will be coming next year
Now that the talk about iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus has subsided, buzz is on iPhone 8 is going to launched for Apple's 10 anniversary and it's going to have a complete all-glass makeover
Buzz is Apple is going to launch iPhone 8 on it's 10th anniversary, next year. Moreover, there is also news that the iPhone 8 series is going to be redesigned and will be all-glass.
As per tech reports, unlike the Apple's recent launch of smartphone models, iPhone 7 and 7 plus, its new iPhone 8 is going to have 3 different models released at the same time. These three models are going to have a 4.5 inch, a 5.5 inch and an all new, 5 inch screen model as well. This is the latest news on launch of iPhone 8 revealed by Apple, as of now.
News is that Apple is currently working with Biel and Lens Technologies, which is a Chinese company that supplies both, Apple and Samsung with its glass panels. Apple's decision to shift to all glass is, no doubt, a drastic shift in it's design. However, considering that Apple changed it's decision on iPhone 7 having a dual lens as to what had been confirmed previously, a single sense design, just seven months before its launch, is a warning that nothing as of now can be considered to be etched in stone.
A source told Nikkei that "Apple has tentatively decided that all the 5.5-inch, 5-inch and 4.7-inch models will have glass backs, departing from metal casings adopted by current iPhones, and Biel and Lens are likely to be providing all the glass backs for the new iPhones next year."
Metal will be used on the inside of the frame which will hold the glass together with innards.
An OLED Display and wireless charging are also a few other ideas on the table along with an all-glass design for iPhone 8, which is said to have three models with different screen sizes. Rumour is that OLED will probably only be available for the curve iPhone 8 model of 5.5 inches.
