5 Maoists assassinated in Chhattisgarh
At least five Maoists got killed in a police encounter in the Becha forest region in Chhattisgarh’s Narayanpur district.
“In yet another successful operation, in Tuspal and Becha Kilam jungles of Abujmarh, Narayanpur District Reserve Group (DRG) decimated Military Company No 6 of the CPI (Maoists), killing at least half a dozen Naxals. However, we could recover only five bodies of Maoists and five weapons,” said Abhishek Meena,Narayanpur Superintendent of Police.
The encounter which claimed the lives of 5 people, was a joint operation conducted by the Narayanpur police headed by Meena and Kondagaon police headed by SP Santosh Singh.
The police sources said that they have seized three rifles of 12 bore, one rifle of 315 bore and articles of daily use from the spot.
According to reports, the body of 15 Maoists have been recovered by Bastar police as the part Mission 2016 Bastar till today.
